Just a short post to wish all of you a very Happy easter. Taking in the religious philosophy of the holiday it is not only the celebration of a resurrection, but also the re-birth of the year. After the most horrible winter I can remember, with all the suffering that has acompannied the last 4 months it is fitting that the new season be full of warmth and gratitude.
We are still in a deeep recession, no matter what your political views may be, the last year has shown that this administration has continued to reward failure and deceit and punish creativity and success.
My question as to why the hollywood elite is so liberal is probably quite simple.
They are for the most part a debase bunch of individuals, into themselves and their own gratification. So when they get up in the morning they feel a sense of shame. They hide this shame by finding social causes to champion, trying to appease their consciences. Too bad their thinking is flawed by their abuses of every known substance on this planet. No Hollywood, if you do bad things you are not forgiven because you champion a cause. Do not believe your life is any more valued than any other entity on this planet. You have been given a talent by God. It is as Rush Limbaugh says "On loan from God" he can take it away at a moments notice.
We ordinary people have no less value than them. We struggle to survive, day after day, week after week. year after year.
With the onset or warmer weather and the rebirth of the trees and flowers from this horrid winter, please take time to thank God for what you have and treat your neighbors and loved ones with renewed respect and admiration.
The whole focus of Old Time Rock n Roll is to bring back those carefree days of youth. Today more than ever we need those days back.

Well I believe all of those folks that were going to respond have responded.
The verdict was unanimous, they didn't like it. They wanted to hear me more!!!!!
Well maybe I am too hard on myself, but I don't get it.
They like my comments, my humor, my voice?
Okay I'll accept it.
But I just don't think they got the idea of the show "Scenes from a life"
Well the idea of not talking during the show was because I felt that any words would
take away from the story being told in song.
Why was it so important to me? The reason is simple, it was my auto biography.I felt it because it was mine. And I felt it wasn't necessary.
This type of show will never again grace old time rock n roll.
Mostly because it wasn't well received but it was my life story and nothing else will be so personal. So I won't do any more. But like the song, I did it because I could, and I have no regrets, I did it MY WAY

What a disappointment. My latest show, Scenes From A Life. I tried to be creative and innovative. Instead of finding songs to match a theme I took 26 songs and wove it in to a story. For some reason people want to hear my raspy voice adn comments. I bow to the will of the people.

New Year Starts off with a Bang!

What a great start to the new year. On New Years Eve OTRNR presents Long Black Limousine. A salute to the deceased singers and performers. A new Doo Wop show really bringing some of the oldies that have been forgotten. A great Happy Birthday to Elvis show rounds out the first week. Then a brand new show recorded live at Cypress Gardens. During a Doo Wop Concert with some great interviews from performers. Also a surprise live performance. Then get your taste buds ready as we present Douglas' Restaurant. The most important show of the month is Rock, Rock, Rock. For years we have been trying to get all the songs from the soundtrack of Rock Rock Rock a 1956 movie made by Alan Freed and features the first performance by Connie Francis. 21 songs made up this silly but entertaining teen flick. Do not miss this great show bringing back a long forgotten movie from your youth.Another interestiung show is Unidentified Rocking Objects, as we present songs about flying saucers, space men and rocket ships. On January 30th we finish the month with Songs we never heard in the US. As we listen to songs that became popular in the UK. The first two weeks of the New Year begins with a salute to the deceased singers of 2007. Country, pop, rythym and blues, doo wop. All the greats who helped make popular music what it was in the 50's and 60's are saluted. The second week continues with the broadcast recorded at Cypress Gardens on December 15th . Interviews and live performances highlight OTRNR's first in person broadcast. And of course our annual salute to Elvis on his birthday. We are commited to making OTRNR even bigger in 2008. Join us.

November is the month to be thankful for all we have. For us at OTRNR we have much to be thankful for. The increase in listenership plus more and more media seems to be taking notice of our show. There will be three forgotten hits shows this month plus our money and rainbow connection specials. Our very sspecial shows this month will be "Remembering Ted Steele's one live rock n roll show" and For the first time Lee opens his Doo Wop Vault to play some of the forgotten songs that started the genre of rock music in the early 50's.

With his usual style Lee Douglas will present some of the lesser known songs of the King.Not album cuts but songs that were number one hits but forgottenh in the shuffle.Afdd some comments by the King himself and some classics from his movies this should be one great show.

The Xtra show has been expanded to an hour from now on.

The big fanfare is for next week's show Before They Made It. This show will raise the bar in music entertainment. Every one should have a friend with them to play their own game, plus pencil and paper to record your answers. This show is filled with surprise after surprise. Try and see if you can guess what superstars made these first recordings. We challenge you. The show will debut next Saturday July 21st. Do not miss this one.

"We are tweaking the logo and changing the web address, to reflect the true nature of our podcast." says Lee Douglas about the change coming in August. "People still dont equate old time rock n roll and wrestling in the same breath. So it is a necessary change. The Logo will also have to be changed since the logo prominently displays the web address on the top.

By the way each week and month the number of listeners continues to grow. We have some very interesting plans for the future, Stay Tuned!

Second show on Phil Spector neven better than the first

It brings back so many memories and it show how many performers have been influenced by Spector over the years. DEspite his legal problems right now Spector still is the major force in Rock n Roll for the past 40 years.

BIG BAD BO BATTLES BACK

If you haven't heard, Bo Diddley, RnR hall of Famer and one of the guitars major forces, who suffered a stroke about ten days ago is on his way to recovery. He has been moved out of intensive care and is managing to be his cantankerous old self. Other than a slight problem being able to speak and be undestood well, it looks like Bo is on his way to a full recovery. We wish him and his family the best. Bo was supposed to be at the big Memorial Day Rock Reunion in Green Bay Wisconsin. He will be missed.
